We’ve been made aware of urgent gas pipe replacement works taking place in parts of Harwell. This is important advance notice so residents can plan ahead.
🔧 What’s happening?
SGN (the gas network operator) will be replacing old metal gas pipes with new plastic ones to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply, ahead of planned road resurfacing later this year.
📅 When?
Works begin Tuesday 7 April and are expected to last approximately 13 weeks.
📍 Where?
High Street & Drewitts Corner
Road closure from the junction with Wantage Road to School Lane
Diversions will be clearly signed. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Townsend (from 4 May for approx. 5 weeks)
Multiway traffic lights at Barrow Lane
🚗 What you need to know:
– Please allow extra travel time.
– Let visitors and delivery drivers know about the diversions
– Check with your bus provider for any route or timetable changes
– If you live locally and have specific access needs, speak to on-site engineers
We appreciate this will cause some disruption, but these works are part of maintaining and improving essential infrastructure for the village.
